The leather processing for gloves is a real art that is handed down from generation to generation.<\/p>\n

To make a finished leather for gloves from raw skins it takes 17 steps (we spoke about them in \u201cArt of the skin, a consummate experience of artisan hands<\/a>\u201d), to which follow other 12 essential phases to creat a pair of gloves.<\/p>\n

In fact the production of a pair of gloves is divided in the following phase:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Selection.<\/b> To create a perfect leather glove, it is important to use a high quality leather. This is why the raw skin selection phase is, without a doubt, one of the most important moments for making a glove;<\/p>\n

2. Bath.<\/b> The leather is wrapped in a cloth and dipped in water for a few seconds;<\/p>\n

3. Cutting.<\/b> Skin is spread on a wooden bench and a rectangle is shaped by scissors.<\/p>\n

4. Drawing.<\/b> During this phase the glove is pulled to get the right fit.<\/p>\n

5. Shearing.<\/b> Glove begins to take a shape: thumb is shaped and gradually , other fingers.<\/span><\/p>\n

6. Embroidery.<\/b> Blades, curved cuts and socket punch are used to make holes, stichings,weavings, folds that characterize the model.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Sewing.<\/b> There is a type of seam suitable for each glove: saddle seam for sports gloves, piqu\u00e8 seam for very fine gloves and the stroke seam for classic ones.<\/p>\n

8. Inspection.<\/b> Every seams has to be checked to make sure there are no errors.<\/p>\n

9. Lining.<\/b> Lining is spread on a wood hand and on the fingertips a point of vegetable glue is applied through that is fixed the inner part of the glove.<\/p>\n

10. Hemming.<\/b> The hems are finished by hand or machine.<\/p>\n

11. Ironing.<\/b> Gloves are ironed on thermic hands.<\/p>\n

12. Final inspection. <\/b>Final phase that precedes the packaging and distribution of the finished glove.<\/p>\n

It is only after having performed all these steps that it is possible to obtain a glove madeof high quality handcrafted leather , making it according to the ancient Neapolitan glove-maker tradition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
