Positive results for the February 2016 theMICAM`s edition, the internetional exhibition of footwear that ends today in Milan (Rho Fiera) the event number 81 with 32,703 visitors, half of them foreigners. Thery were 1,456 exhibitors , 821 of them Italian and 635 foreign, on a net area of 64,144 square meters.

Compared with February 2015, ther was an increase of 1,8 % , whereas comparing with September edition , the precentages recorded a + 6 %. On the international front the theMICAM 2016 recorded 16,343 visitors from over 130 countries. Spain, Germany , and France ( the latter with a significant + 12.5 %) lead the way. But Russia showed , surprisingly, a significant growth of buyers (+ 13%).

The trends presented in Milan show no longer opposite combinations but simply complementary for the season Fall/Winter 2016/17. In fact , new trends suggest extreme combinations creating unusual balances. Baroque prints are combined with futuristic graphic elements as well as ultra-tech materials are combined with natural ones.

There are no boundaries to creativity and the extremes meet themselves.

Thick volumes soles, winter materials like fur used for snow moccasin, at last boots become more and more “smart shoe” made of precious materials.
