Last friday ended the 85th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, event more and more important in the fashion ambit, that currently polarize not only exhibitors but the whole cool hunters and bloggers fashion scene. This event this year was inspired by the rock mood. Installations, DJ sets and live performances have paid tribute to a style rough and appealing. The new men’s wardrobe has highlighted a focus on convenience without sacrificing elegance. The proposals were for a different clientele always more demanding. Gentlemen style and unconventional and rebellious look have dominated the scene. Different aesthetic expressions that showed a common attention to detail.
The men’s collection Fall/Winter 2014-15 by Diesel Black Gold, designed by the new creative director Andreas Mebostad, showed a rebellious man who wears leather garments with boldness and energy. The leather brand Renzo Rosso, as tradition, is studied through innovative research. The classic black leather jacket comes in silver studded with multi decors and the frock coat show itself fully zipped in a militar-rock style. The lacquered denim incorporates the shiny leather style, with a dyed treatment. Appealing details for a daring collection. Blauer has reinterpreted the American police jacket with a lighter skin turn to a faux fur collar: for a final vintage effect. At Pitti, in addiction, the leather has been enhanced with decorative studs, deavy-duty boots and are seen in shiny leather with military details. The high-quality calf in classic colors ,like black and dark brown, was one of the most performed together with leather and suede as favorite for the tradional style lovers.
Accessories have to liven up the task of the male wardrobe next year. The brand GABS has designed a collection of lively and witty bags presenting printed leather models. If the shoes, in the previous seasons, showed soles in different heights and colors, this time strings were stealing the attention. From lace-up boots to the mountain ones, all models even the classics have taken an informal and multicolored tone. The modern gentleman loves to venture through color and its different variants. Alessandro Dell’ Acqua, for the menswear ”N21”collection debut, presented two-tone shoes. Elegance, but with a touch of extravagance that makes modern man sought and never banal. So it’s possible to say, that the exclusivity and refinement are still the trump cards for leather industry that at Pitti has been shown to be, again, a key part of the event.
