With this article begins a series of posts dedicated to the tanning world, but especially to the tannery becuase, as always we say in a company, tanning industry as too many define it is a productive ecosystem rigorously yet crafted. The convinction that we support is streghthened every day by the demands of the Italian and luxury market, to the demand for refined products, just the industrial machineries are not enough. Only the mastery of certain craftsmen can transform, with experience and cunning, standard and traditional features into something unique.
With the premise that all professional figure are essential in a company, we would like to talk about a particular position attached to ”primordial particles” of a good leather article : the work of the technical tanner, especially Drum Technician.
The work of a technician expert in tannery chemistry is the setting for the recipe for every tanning or retanning, whic is done in drums to transform a raw skin in a a leather ready to be used for a finished product. What is essential for this position is the experience in the sector, which makes the technician in the position to understand the real need of the leather with a cler vision of the finished product. It’s the drum, in fact, that determines the finished product.
Ther work of the tan technician is the result of a long tradition. Many recipes are handed down from father to son in the companies but also among technicians, becoming keepers of time and patrimony of the company’s ”know how”.
