Milan Design Week: experimenting with leather

The watchword during the Milan Furniture Week is DESIGN. There’s nothing more scope to show off an accessory that is reminescent of works of art, even if it is made of skin, to evoke our great artisan tradition. The accessory, which always makes a difference, this springsummer season dresses many colors and shapes chasing the most different trends. The new object of desire is the “colorful interlaced bag”: the surface discovers the depth and the leather folds like origami with clear color contrasts. There are several models proposed for this summer: the postman, the trunk and the clutch. The trendiest shape is the quadrangular. We do admire the bags with long dancing franges that recall the ’70s for unpublished cowgirl. The creation of Frida Giannini is the shoulder model “ Gucci Noveau Fringe”, destined to be one of the most desired bags by fashionistas. For the male universe are prented: iPad folders, backpacks with refined shapes and max handbag to show off firmly in hand. Models are in reptile, calf, suede but also printed degradè leather wich are characterized by preciuos details without forgetting the need of practicality and functionality of a modern “business man”.

Contuinue to make dreaming women word, in an almost maniacal mood, shoese that represent a universal model of creativity and craftsmanship. Less stilettos in this season where, istead, we climb over scultuptural details decidedly particular. Fendi, for example, proposes a new heel with ”design” effect. The modern footwear leather mixes a variety of materials such as wood and plastic. For those who waver on highheeled sandals , there is a return to mif heights. The shoe adapts to less extreme measures with the blue suede sandals by Stuart Weitzman with woven pattern. Men’s models point to the elegance of classic oxfords or loafers by special processes such as those of the Freatelli Rossetti pointing to the twotone woven leather excellent example of the sophisticated craftsmanship with a touch of ’50s style.

Back again to the fore the accessory that marks the waist: the belt. Female models are tall and refined for a contemporary geisha look while for men it highlights the work and the preciousness of the leather and trimmings. The accessories are proving, once again, the best allies to enrich wardrobe and give greater emphasis the look coming from the best Made in Italy tradition.
